Once you take the infopass appointment, you can go to your local office (indicated on the appointment) and wait in the line/queue and ask your questions them when they call your number.

You are from ROW....here are some things to consider....
Is your new employer filing your GC under EB-2? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely take the new job and re-file GC and not worry about your EB-3 perm that is pending.
If your new employer is going to file under EB-3, then you have to evaluate which job is better for you (as far as pay, position etc.). If you think the new job is much better than what you have now, then I think you should still go for it. Your PD is very recent and a PD of Aug 2007 and a PD of (say) Feb/Mar 2008 has approximately the same value (according to me).
You have a valid H-1B until June 2009 and since you will apply for your perm LC before June 2008, you are eligible for atleast 1 year H-1B renewals.

Hi everyone,
I am currently on a H4 Visa. The H4 visa on my passport expires on 20 June 2007. My husband recently got a 3 year extension on his H1 ( I 140 approved) and because of him, my H4 is also extended for 3 years (valid from 10/23/2006 to 08/07/2009 )

You can travel on your current stamped H4. In fact, I'm not sure if you can even get the new H4 stamped now because they say that you can get the new approval stamped only 10 days prior to the expiry of the current one. Technically, the visa is just permission and not a guarantee for re-entry. But I do not see how a new approved petition would affect it. Just make sure you carry the current & new approvals with you. In fact, if you present the new approval at the time of re-entry the officer can give you a I-94 with an expiry date that is the same as the expiry of the new approval !!
3. Also if I decide to travel on my current H4 visa, since I only have 4-5 months left before it expires, will US immigration pose any problems when I re-enter in US?

Lately the members of IV have come to know that Aman Kapoor, the co-founder of IV has sold his house and spent around $64000/- towards the administrative costs of IV. This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.

I work for company X and have an offer from company Y.
What are my best options now
1. Transfer H1 to Y - if yes what impact would this have on my GC processing?
should the new H1-B Job code match with my Labor Certification?
2. Use EAD - the complication here is my desi employer filed my labor

That means it should be a managerial occupation. If Y offers you "not similar" occupation of X, your 485 may get denied, irrsepective of how you joined y (EADorH1). The bottomline is the new job should be similar to the LC job.

Appreciate if you could provide some insight to my situation.
I had filed my labor certification from company (A) ( Based on future employment ) .

I did not work for the company (A)
My labor certification has got approved and now I am preparing to file I-140.
In the mean while my current employer (B) had approved to file my GC- ( PERM labor ) will get it filed in beginning of 2007.
Should I file my I-140 from company (A) in order to retain PD...I am told that once the I-140 gets approved from (A ) the priority date can get transferred to the company B when ever that I-140 stage reaches.

That is correct. Mixing and matching with certifications doesn't work. Although I don't know about CPA, if it goes towards professional degree.
That's correct, also if the job requirement is Bachelor + 5 year experience is entirely different from Bachelor or equivalent +5 year experience. Thanks , for point 3 , I can apply for premium COS with future date as effective(say 6 weeks from now) , I will know on approval within 2 weeks since its a premium n then i can get my family here since I know for sure L1-H1 is approved , this will avoid family either going to stamping at chennai or every one (all of us) leaving back to india due to non approval of COS. But now Major question is , if I apply for premium COS will it be possible to include dependents COS as well in the same request , with dependents currently being in India ? or if i were to apply COS for them after they are here , will it be same cost n procedure as mine (COS that was successfully processed just for myself)?
You cannot do a COS for them while they are in india. It would be better if you can apply COS for all including yourself at the sametime to avoid complications. Basically the COS for your family must be applied before your COS gets approved. I suggest you speak with a lawyer for exact interpretation of rules.

I work as a software engineer in India and the US branch of my company has filed a L1-B petition by September 2008. The petition got denied by Nov 18, 2008 stating that I don't possess "specialized knowledge". Knowing that I am the only person who possesses knowledge of one of the company's product, we filed an appeal to re-consider by Dec 18, 2008.
The USCIS moved the case to AAO by Feb 9, 2009. After which there is no status change. The status of the case as reported by the USCIS web site is:
Application Type: I290B, NOTICE OF APPEAL TO THE COMMISSIONER
Current Status: Appeal/Motion/Certification sent to Administrative Appeals Office for review.
Two months have passed by and I don't know how much more time it is going to take. Can someone please tell me how long this process is going to take?
Should we just withdraw this appeal and re-file again? In the meantime can I opt a B1 and work there a few months until the L1-B is approved?
If your resume portraits a product customization or support then in the USCIS eyes, you do not posses specialized skills.... Additionally, The initial evidence (including resume) that your company has submitted is not sufficient enough to prove that you posses that specialized skills. Your company also has a base in the US so the availability of US worker in the same skill is very much possible with in the company - Hence, USCIS denied your L1. IMHO, your appeal may not be fruitful....

There is no chance of having any single set of provisions "become law immediately."
Unfortunately, we have to let this current round of discussions on CIR play out. What should we root for? That amendments to the current CIR that basically gut the bill fail. If the bill survives these amendments then we stand a good chance of succeeding in our efforts.
For strategic reasons, we cannot disclose everything we know about behind the scenes agreements.

I know u guys r doing a good job shuttling between work and D.C. This is the closest we have ever come with the lawmakers (that i know). If only we had this cohesion during S-1932 days we would have got something. Hope it works out well for us.

I receive a confirmation for Address change after submitting online form and which I received some where around that time.
