Please dont mix priority date with quota.
spouse's priority date will be the same as primary priority date.
We are discussing about quota here.
I know Spouse's PD will be same as Primary's PD . But good for people who filled 485. If person has latest PD let says Aug 2007 (Eb2 india ) .. Under Eb category he may be able to file 485. But dependent may not be able to file 485 as Family quota is backlogged. Family quota also has PD and category. Under which category spouses of primary will fall ? F2A ? F2B ? do you know this ?

Anti Immigrants will keep doing what they are doing and they have been doing it for long.
They have to give strong argument in favour of their claims.
Somebody can't just say we don't like the color of their skins so we do not want them here.
Let them present their views to the lawmakers and lets do our part.

Alisa, Your PD is March'07, and you could file in July'07. That was great for you. It is a bigger problem for those waiting to file. Others are theoritically in the admin process, though it would take a long time to complete. Technically visa was available for everyone in July'07,that's why all could file as it is a legal requirement for I-485 filing. Now they are just waiting to have the admin process completed.
I am aware that I was lucky (BTW, March 07 labor was my second labor. First one rotted in the BEC. And I have been here since '99). However, that doesn't change the fact that there is likely to be a 10+ year wait time for EB3 ROW. Thats my gut-feeling.
I also think that these 10+ year wait times are meaningless. In a few years, there will be some sort of CIR, and a points-based system will be instituted. At that point, there will be no distinction between those who have filed their 485s, and those who haven't.
All that we July07 EB-3 filers (India or ROW), and even EB-2 I/C, have is an EAD card until the CIR happens. If it happens next year, we are all in the same boat. If it happens in 2015, then the July 07 filers have EAD cards until then.

On aug 9 th, USCIS nebraska center issued a total of 4063 receipt nos for 485, EAD, and APs.

From this, if we assume ~4000/day, it ll take 20 working days to clear july 2nd filers (~80,000). My guess is by 31st Aug.

Folks, it is time for the H1B community to grow up. Business is business. I am not a blood sucking deshi firm, or a silent partner. On the contrary, I happen to be a trained mediator, published author on conflict management and professional in strategy/organizations. My view is pretty simple: mathematical 'tit for tat' doesnt take you far. Build, nourish and manage relationships. Money and math are secondary. Its time to grow up.

We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.

And yes in the 8 yrs I have been with my company I have got 3 promotions and am now a Manager. My companys immigration lawyer said thats ok. He just joked that when you get your green card just make sure you get tripple demotion to new role.
So when new kids on the block (<5 yrs in US) talk about GC process being screwed up, I say pick a number and wait in line. The closest example to this feeling is waiting to go to the restroom when you live in a slum and there is line of 100 ppl ahead of you to use the loo and you have loose motions :)
well you have a cooperative lawyer and a co operative employer...That is not always the case...Sometimes the employers are just using this excuse to keep folks working in the same position just because it suits employer's interests....

It will be the right thing to do as people will always have a reason for not contributing. I doubt we can ever swing the thick skinned folks to contribute.
I understand that one reason for having the free site is for us to have numbers. But, how do these numbers help when most of them are not good for much.
I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.

I agree with nousername and sledgehammer. It's funny how people justify unethical behavior by saying hey everybody is just trying to improve their own lives. Criminals are trying to improve their own life too and that doesn't excuse crime. The issue here is simple. This lady went for the quick and easy way out, applied for an H1B with some sleazy body shopper without having a project in hand and in the process, no doubt deprived someone better-deserving who actually had a job in hand.
Anyways, if you are not being paid, you are out of status. Best option for you is to apply for a COS to H4 right away so your out-of-status time doesn't come back to haunt you later. Without pay stubs it is doubtful that it will be approved so most probably you might have to go back to your home country and re-enter on an H4 stamp.
or if you are not getting paid you can complain to labor department. Your employer is that body shopper and he should pay you for the period of your h1. He has proved that he has capacity to pay you by filing for LCA and h1b. you having a project was never a condition for you getting paid from your employer. complain to labor department or USCIS if you are not getting paid.

hey guys,
I was scared to take a trip to my country thinking that I would get my FP notice while I am away..but am back from my vacation and still no sign of FP.
I called the center..and the IO told me that they are within their processing times and they have upto 111 days to send me the FP notice?!!!
I had opened an SR on 3rd Oct...but of absolutely no use! I also got a letter from them stating that they are within their processing times.
any idea how to solve this mess?

Iam a July 3rd filer and the moneyorders for me and my wife has been cashed on September 28th. We had send 2 moneyorders for $745. Waiting for the receipts to come. Hope all of you get your receipts very soon.
Very sorry guys!!But all the information that I got from lawyer's office was wrong. They did not send my I-485 on July 2nd as I thought. When I got the receipts the received date was July 20th. Receipts are from Texas. I hope you all get your receipts soon.
